Welcome
We have welcomed lots of new children to Startright Pre-School over the last few weeks – we hope your time with us will be fulfilling.
We have some exciting dates coming up in March. World Book Day is on Thursday 7th March and we’d love to see the children come in dressed as their favourite book character. 17th March is St Patrick’s Day and we will all be wearing something green on Monday 18th March. We also have some lovely Mother’s Day events that are detailed in the newsletter below.
Thank you once again to everyone that has donated to our new garden fundraiser so far. We have raised £400 on our just giving page and £102 on Valentine’s Day – we are so grateful! St James’ Church have applied for a grant in order to help and we have a few more fundraising activities in the pipeline. We can’t wait for the lovely garden to be ready in time for the children to enjoy.

Mother’s Day
During Mother’s Day week we’d like to invite our mummies to volunteer some of their time at Pre-School with the children. You might like to read some stories, talk about your job or teach some key words from another language for example. We have time slots from 9am-10am or 2pm – 3pm. Please let Mrs BJ know if you are able to come in.
Mother’s Day March
The children will be taking part in a sponsored Mother’s Day March around St James’ Church in order to raise some more money for our fundraiser. We’d be delighted if your family and friends sponsor your child to march around the church with their friends – remember they only have little legs 🙂
We’ll be handing sponsorship forms out next week and the event will take place in the week leading up to Mother’s Day so everyone will get the opportunity to take part.
Team Member of the Month
Congratulations to Mrs O’Shea for being voted February’s Team Member of the Month – our monthly award at Pre-School where we celebrate our amazing team and reward those that go the extra mile. A very well deserved award.
Parents Evening
Our next Parents Evening takes place on Thursday 21st March from 5-6pm. An appointment sheet will soon be placed outside the door for you to chose a suitable time to meet with your child’s key person.
Potty Training
If you’ve started potty train your child please let us know so we can support both you and your child. We advise you send them in wearing normal pants (not pull ups) and a few changes of clothes in their bag.
Reminders
– Please do not park outside our Pre-School building, there is ample free parking in Kemp Place carpark and surrounding roads.
– If you have any comments or suggestions please do not hesitate to speak to Mrs BJ – we welcome all ideas and suggestions on how we can provide the best possible care for your children.
– If your child is still in nappies please don’t send them to Pre-School in pull ups as it makes nappy changes difficult.

Staff News
Miss Emily Nelhams has joined the Startright Team. Miss Nelhams has lots of experience working with children as she is a qualified school teacher. She is also has a BA in English Literature and PGCE in Primary Education. Welcome to our Pre-School 🙂
