Startright Pre-School Newsletter February 2019

It might be cold outside but we are having lots of fun at Pre-School keeping everyone nice and warm – a particular favourite last month was dancing in the church hall! Despite the chilly weather we still like to go out for a quick play in the garden or enjoy a wander around the nature walk so please remember hats, coats and gloves (all labelled) every day.
We have lots of exciting things planned over the next few weeks so keep an eye on our Facebook page for reminders.
Don’t forget half term is week commencing Monday 18th February and Pre-School will be closed.

Our Pre-School garden
Our garden needs lots of love as it is starting to look a little tired. The children love spending time outdoors and it is really important for their development too – read more about the benefits here: https://bit.ly/2UtIrsU
We are hoping to have a new garden in time for spring but we need to raise £1000 to put towards the refurbishment and would really appreciate your help! We have lots of fundraising activities planned for the children to enjoy over the next few months and have also set up a just giving page and we’d all be grateful if you could share it with your friends and family:

Wear red for Valentine’s Day
Our first fundraising event is on Valentine’s Day (14th February). We’d love to see the children come in to Pre-School wearing something red for a donation of £1.
We will also be holding a small bake sale at pick up where we will be selling little treats that the children will have made throughout the morning. Thank you in advance for your donations.

Team Member of the Month
Congratulations to Mrs Rupal for being voted January’s Team Member of the Month – our monthly award at Pre-School where we celebrate our amazing team and reward those that go the extra mile. A very well deserved award.

Meet ‘Buttons’
Thank you to everyone that suggested a name for our bear – the children voted and they chose the name Buttons!
Throughout the term, Buttons will be going home with the children and we are looking forward to hearing about your adventures.

Reminders
– Kindly return all children journals if you haven’t done so already.
– Please can all children in nappies wear nappies to Pre-School and not pull ups.
– Please do not send chocolate, raisins or jam sandwiches in your chid’s lunchbox as we promote healthy eating. We would also like to remind you that we are a nut-free Pre-School.
