Thank you to all our parents for coming in for our second Parent Workshop in November. These have been hugely successful events that we hope to continue in the new year.
We have had a busy few weeks at Pre-School including our to trip to Bushey Library, visiting Bushey Museum and walking to the post box. We were also lucky enough to welcome one of our parent’s last week who joined us to talk about her role as a Post Woman. We learned what happens to our letters when we put them in the mail and we also looked at stamps that we were owed to keep and play with.
We have an even busier December – please read on for important dates.
We are looking forward to lots of festive fun over the coming weeks.

Birthdays
A big happy birthday to Robyn and Gianluca – we hope you have lots of fun celebrating with your family and friends.
Nativity
The children will be presenting their Nativity on 9th December at 11am. Please note that this will be via zoom, the zoom link will be posted on the parents WhatsApp group.
Christmas Party
On 10th December we will be hosting our Christmas party and we invite all children to attend.
If your child doesn’t usually attend Pre-School on a Friday, please do bring them along to join the fun from 12:45pm. They will need to be collected at 1.45pm.
Christmas Jumper Week
Week beginning 6th -10th December is Christmas Jumper Week at Pre-School. We’d love the children to wear a Christmas Jumper and bring a donation of £2 to support the Save the Children’s ‘Christmas Jumper Day’.
Reports
All reports and 2 year checks will be ready by 10th December. Please log onto Baby’s Day to check and sign that you’ve read the report.
Parking
Unfortunately we have received complaints from the Church and residents about parking in Rectory Lane. These spaces are reserved for the Church and residents ONLY so please refrain from parking outside the Pre-School building. There is plenty of parking on the high street and in Kemp Place carpark. Thank you for your cooperation.

Pre-School Children
Should you have concerns regarding your child’s speech and language development, please speak to your Health Visitor or local Family Centre. They will often be able to provide you with advice on ways to support your child at home. If your child is aged over two years six months, they may advise you to book on to one of our virtual screening clinics.
These clinics offer an opportunity for you to talk with the therapist regarding your child’s development and for us to gather information to understand your child’s needs. You may have been directed to these clinics by a Health Visitor or another professional working with your child but you do not need a referral to attend one. We have two separate clinics running, one by Speech and Language Therapists and one by Occupational Therapists.
The criteria for attending an SLT clinic is as follows:Screening clinics are for preschool children from aged 2 years 6 months and above, who are not yet in full time school
We are unable to see children with Education, Health and Care plans, or those requiring associated assessment within these clinics. A referral should be made by your child’s Special Education Needs officer
Children already known to the service, or children beyond the given age ranges for each clinic are not able to be seen
We are unable to complete assessments of eating and drinking at screening clinics
