Dear Parents

In line with the revised Government guidelines announced on Wednesday (30th December), parents and carers can continue to access early years settings as normal from January 2021. We are delighted that Early Years Settings can remain open and we will return to Pre-School on Tuesday 5th January 2021 as planned.

The safety of the children and the team is paramount and our current procedures remain in place:

  • The number of team members in the building will be reduced according to how many children we have each day in order to comply with social distancing. We will of course be adhering to ratio rules.
  • At the start of each day, all team members will wash their hands for a minimum of 20 seconds and apply hand sanitiser.
  • All surfaces will be washed and sanitised.
  • All equipment and toys will be cleaned and sanitised daily.
  • Where necessary, PPE will be worn by the team and disposed off immediately.
  • All children will be received from their parents at the main front door (downstairs).
  • Please adhere to the 2 metre distancing rules when waiting outside.
  • When a child is met at the door by a team member, they will then go straight into the bathroom to wash their hands before being taken upstairs.
  • The register will be conducted electronically, so parents will not need to sign their child in/out.
  • During snack and lunch time, we will have 2/ 3 tables set out and reduce the numbers of the children to pairs or at most 3 children at each table.
  • Weather permitting, most of our daily routine will be taking place outside in our wonderful garden. Again, all equipment will be cleaned and sanitised daily.
  • All children will be brought downstairs by the team at home time and parents will collect their child at the front door.

The theme at Pre-School this month is Winter. We will look at different topics in January including Settling back in to Pre-School, Snow and Ice and Winter Animals.

We also have some new children joining us in January. A big welcome to Jake, Oliver, Clerk, Violet, Finn, Logan and Kevin.
