Startright Pre-School Newsletter July 2019

Welcome
Can you believe the end of term is nearly here – just three more weeks of Pre-School until we break up for the summer holidays. We have so much happening before the 18th July we are not quite sure how to fit it all in! Read on to see what we have in store for the children…

Thank you to everyone that came along to Aldenham Country Park last week – I’m sure you’ll agree it was a lovely day for all involved. We have had a fantastic year at Pre-School and can’t believe we’ll be saying goodbye to many of you as you start your big school adventure! The teachers are all working really hard on the end of year and transition reports as we speak so you can look forward to receiving them week beginning 15th July.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support during our OFSTED inspection and subsequent report. You’ll be pleased to hear that we have already actioned all of the suggested requirements. Some of the comments from the report include:

‘Staff track children’s progress effectively’
‘Staff and parents have good relationships’
‘Staff successfully teach pre-school children according to their individual needs’
‘Children happily greet staff and respond when asked their name’
‘Children are confident and self-assured’
‘Outdoor experiences are frequent and the new play area is a pleasant place for children to play’
‘Children attending the pre-school sessions make good progress from their individual starting points’
‘Children acquire a sound understanding of letters and sounds through phonics teaching’
Although we were disappointed with our overall grading, the OFSTED inspector commended all of our Pre-School staff and children and I couldn’t be prouder of them all.

We will be inspected again in 6-12 months and I am confident we will be graded GOOD in all areas.
